When considering to start therapy it is important that you feel comfortable and happy with the person you choose to work with.
One way to do that is to have an * Initial, non-committal consultation with me. Or perhaps before that look at my FAQs page and my Testimonials.
How could I describe myself on this page?
Three things have been constant in my life: My love for learning, my passion for the Arts and above all helping people.
I have worked internationally in development, both in the field of education and health, and as a researcher on International Humanitarian issues in Geneva. I also have run Art Therapy Ceramics workshops for refugee mothers and their children in former Yugoslavia. In the last 12 years I have trained as a Reiki energy healer, which instilled in me the belief that all people have it in them to repair and heal themselves.
I have done Mindfulness and Stress Management training, and for the last four years I have been listening to a variety of Self-Hypnosis recordings to learn about it’s effectiveness and experience how it achieves shifts and changes. This and what my clients report back has cemented my belief in the unique effectiveness of Hypnotherapy.
When I began studying and practising Solution-focused Hypnotherapy I discovered that this approach made lasting results very quickly. Because of that I decided to be a practising solution-focused clinical Hypnotherapist for the rest of my life. And here I am really enjoying helping my clients to take back control of their lives, self-manage their minds more effectively and face future trials and tribulations with a sense of self-belief in their ability to cope. This form of therapy really empowers the client. Because it offers a combination of the latest insights of CBT, NLP, brief therapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Science, it can help you to understand how the brain works in relation to your specific concern(s). My CPHT (Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training) training school is the gold standard of this type of therapy.
I feel that one of my strengths is that I can build rapport with clients of any age, social background and from any culture.
From the first meeting, I can start helping with anxiety problems including, panic attacks, nightmares, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias or other fear-related symptoms, and we will go on the path towards your goal.
I will help you to think about your challenges, in new, more empowering ways.
I will not use jargon or ‘psychobabble’.
I believe that therapy should not be traumatic and painful.
I will not dwell unduly on your past.
I will assist you, if you so wish, to develop your social skills so that your need for affection, friendship, pleasure, intimacy, connection to the wider community etc, can be better fulfilled.
I will teach you how to relax more and more.
I will use a wide range of techniques.
I will aim to get you to achieve your goal as quickly as possible.
I will increase your confidence, self-belief and independence and make sure you feel better after every consultation.
Having said all that, you are the expert on yourself, I am merely a facilitator to help you formulate each step towards your goal.
